THE Venice and A Venice of the North

Today at Italytiamo we wanted to give Amsterdam, which is nicknamed Venice of the North, some special attention. The term “Venice of the North” refers to the fact that also Amsterdam, like Venice, has expanded upon water, has several bridges (approx. 160, nearly a third compared to Venice’s bridges) and a great number of canals (at least 1200, many more than in Venice, where they are 178).
